BIRMINGHAM, UNITIED KINGDOM,
AUGUST 30TH 2009:
Battlefield Sports, the world leader in combat entertainment, is rolling
out its new digital technology S*A*T*R (small arms transmitter receiver) in
what is a breakthrough for leisure attractions.
Battlefield Sports’
patent-pending technology will be demonstrated at stand A114 during
Leisure Industry Week (LIW 2009), 22-24 September in Birmingham UK.
S*A*T*R is the world's first real-time hit feedback system with compelling
real-time in-game statistics without requiring a central computer system.
“S*A*T*R is a huge step forward in combat entertainment,” explained Paul
Diamond, UK Agent for Battlefield Sports. “Battlefield Sports spent two
years developing this latest innovation in the
leisure industry and now will showcase this breakthrough at
Leisure Industry Week (LIW 2009)."
Our infrared ‘bullets’ can shoot more than 450 meters, depending
on the gaming gun model. Since the system is light based, the weapons are
accurate. This patent-pending technology features real-time voice feedback
e.g. when a gamer hits an enemy, the shooting weapon instantly says
‘casualty’ or ‘kill confirmed’ or ‘already dead.’ The enemy’s weapon issues
a near-miss, wound, or dead sound effect.
“The implementation of S*A*T*R will mean that
leisure venues that have
this technology will be far in front of venues that don't. With such a major
advance in the gamer experience, it is clear only venues with this will
survive and thrive in today's instant communication and technology buzz
environment. Only the best will do to protect your business,” added Peter
Lander, Founder, Battlefield Sports.
“We are excited to be able to offer this state-of-the-art technology at
this year’s Leisure Industry Week (LIW 2009) show. Not only will S*A*T*R will be on
exhibit at Stand A114 but this year we are also running an interactive
display in an outdoor arena,” said Paul Diamond.
“For the first time LIW 2009 attendees will be able to experience our brand of combat
entertainment with a full sized outdoor arena built using our battlefield
inflatables. Because these inflatables are modular the entire shooting match
is portable,” said Mr Diamond.
